Les scientifiques sur place sont unanimes : les cancers, malformations et décès suspects sont tous liés au rejet d'eaux usées.
Pour répondre aux demandes toujours plus fortes des pays occidentaux, le gouvernement indien a lancé la construction de Pharma City. Un projet pharaonique rassemblant des milliers d’usines sur une surface égale à 14 000 terrains de football, destiné à devenir le fer de lance de l'économie indienne.
